Catalina Island Humane Society

This section is reserved for pictures of the cats and kittens that have been through the CIHS.  Some have been adopted and others have been returned to where we got them.  Our volunteers care for these little beasts while they are with us and it will be nice to have a photo album of our little wonders.  If you would like us to post a picture of a kitty you have gotten from us please e-mail it to us so we can post them.

Rocky is a 6 month old male striped tabby with deep green eyes.  His is a shorthair with a striking and beautiful coat.  Just a pleasure to look at.  He was the runt of the litter when he came to us as a little guy but he's growing into a stunning cat.  He is a very friendly kitty once he knows you and plays throughout the day with his friend Emmy.  Together they play and romp like kittens.  While reserved with strangers he loves to be held and petted and has a functional purr box.  He will sit next to us while we do our work. 
Rocky has been with Emmy now for about 4 months and they are very close.  He plays very well with Emmy and looks after her and gives her 'kisses'.  Rock is definitely the straight man on "The Rocky and Emmy Show".  He is a fastidious little guy and doesn't make the kind of mess some boy cats can make.  Rocky is fixed with all of his shots.  He truly is a sweet little cat and the perfect companion for you (and Emmy).  Please consider taking both he and Emmy as they would just love to share their lives with you.  We know they would bring as much joy to your home as they have to our office.

Emmy is a gorgeous little female tortie about 6 months old.  She has striking markings with beautiful eye make-up.  She is a shorthaired cat with little spots on her belly.  She is very soft and is a dainty little girl.  Emmy stands out as one of the best kitties that we have had.  She is very curious and wants to see everything.  She likes to smell your breath (blow softly into her nose) and tickle your face with her whiskers.  She likes to chatter at the birds and play fetch with her 'mousie'.  She is the MOST affectionate cat we have had in a very long time.
She likes to hug your leg (or head) with her paws in the morning and will sit in your lap adoring you as long as you will let her.  She loves to help in the office with typing and filing.  In fact, she's sitting in my lap right now and loves to watch the movement on the screen.  Sometimes she will crawl up your chest so she can nibble your ear.  She love treats and will train well using rewards.  She knows what the squirt bottle is for and learns very quickly.  She is also a great mouser. 
Emmy is a very vocal cat with a delicate voice and chirps.  When you are holding her quietly petting her she will do the happy feet and meow in a way that says, "I love you so much".  Emmy is bonded with her friend Rocky and they love to play together like kittens.  They like to nap together and get along very well.  We hope that someone with adopt them together because they make such a wonderful pair and they complement each other very well.    If you want an adoring "interactive" cat you can have a conversation with then Emmy is the perfect cat for you.
